Computer-Based Training Solutions
CRPD strives to offer training solutions that meet the year-round needs of agencies of all sizes and locations. In addition to delivering on-site training and conference workshops, we deliver computer-based training which offers several advantages:
- Flexible Scheduling - Computer-based training is available 24/7 so facility staff scheduling is minimally affected. 8:00-5:00.
- Cost - Professional on-site trainer costs are eliminated, as are travel costs to off-site training events. CRPD offers computer-based training at-cost since program development is covered by a grant from OJJDP.
- Effectiveness - Considerable research has shown that computer-based training courses are usually more challenging and rewarding than classroom instruction. Because participants work at their own pace, they learn more deeply. CRPD courses include quizzes and other evaluation components.
Computer-Based Training (CBT)
New employees can receive the entire 24-hours of training using either compact disks or the Internet. A manual is provided to each agency which includes additional activities for an experienced "mentor" to conduct with the trainee to further reinforce lessons and to personalize procedures to each facility. This program works very well as an on-the-job training outline. It is also useful for introducing important concepts to non-custodial staff and volunteers. Click here to register.
