Desktop Guide to Juvenile Reentry for Juvenile confinement
CRPD was chosen by OJJDP to receive an extensive research and writing grant on best practices in reentry programming for juvenile facilities. The result of this 18 month project is The Desktop Guide to Reentry for Juvenile Confinement Facilities downloadable in .pdf format.
Juvenile Corrections Careworker Curriculum - CD only
CRPD gathered an outstanding team of experienced juvenile justice practitioners and training development experts to revise the popular Juvenile Corrections Curriculum. Modules include participant handouts, visual aids, and suggested activities to increase comprehension. Most topics can be presented in a 4-hour block. Trainers and administrators will find the guide to academy and on-the-job training useful in creating large-scale training programs. New modules cover anger management, professional ethics, appropriate personal boundaries, cultural sensitivity, supervision styles, increasing learning capability, youth group dynamics, and conflict resolution. Youth Workforce Development Training Curriculum - CD only
The mission of the Youth Workforce Development (YWD) curriculum is to train staff to create or to enhance existing programming to teach juveniles skills that facilitate law-abiding and successful lives. The YWD Curriculum provides 32 hours of training broken into 8 modules. The main references that have been used in an effort to develop this curriculum are PEPNet, which gives criteria for workforce programs, the National Institute of Corrections Offender Workforce Program, and Barriers and Promising Approaches, which outlines some of the best youth workforce development programs around the country. Preventing and Responding to Staff Sexual Misconduct Training Curriculum
The Curriculum will contain
legal perspectives, investigation procedures, prevention through recruitment
and training, effective policies and procedures, and staff/inmate dynamics.
Sections of the Curriculum are based upon the National Institute of
Corrections Training Curriculum for Investigating Allegations of Staff
Sexual Misconduct with Inmates, a survey on the prevalence of sexual
misconduct in detention facilities, and current research on sexual misconduct
involving adults working with youth.
